I had a chuckle myself, when I started this post, and you’ll probably understand why. Although my previous post discussed the matters of coming out of an accident alive, thus being still alive, my laptop on the other hand is quite dead (or as dead as a laptop can be). If you’ll recall I bought my ASUS A8Jm three and a half years ago, and consequently upgraded the memory twice and fixed the hinge problem myself once, and thus it was in working condition up until the day of my philosophy of law exam.
Although it was lunchtime, I had more or less finished what I had intended to study off the laptop documents I had on the course, and had proceeded to purchase my overly priced ‘Chinese food’ from the SCSU building. After a successful consumption of said ‘food,’ I proceeded back to the science wing in hopes of cramming in a bit more studying for the purpose of the exam (which went well, by the way). Then funny things happened.
First, the Asus booted with funny colours, varying from neon glow-in-the-dark green to C-Plus purple. Eventually it settled on absolutely nothing, and then after that it refused to POST at all. I consequently took it apart at home, reassembled it and to no end could I get it to go anywhere past POST (which also means no access to bios).
So with that being said, I’d like to thank my ASUS laptop one more for its faithful service to me, for my competitive CS:S matches, my gaming hours with friends on TF2 and L4D (esp. @ Addonelam’s), displaying those ridiculously complicated diagrams for organic chemistry, reading FML which was replaced by MLIA, countless hours of eventful MSN and GTalk convos (you know you were involved!) and playing awful Naruto anime episodes.
Ouchy… Time to get a MacBook/Pro :)
