BGYB10H3: Cell Biology (T 4:00-6:00)
Midterm: 10/28/06, 9:00-11:00
Lives up to its name, and really studies the functions of organisms at the cellular level. That’s really all there is to it.
CHMB41H3: Organic Chemistry I (MWF 8:00-9:00, W 9:00-1:00 PRA)
Midterm: 10/27/06, 3:00-5:00
So far, i would have to say this is definitely the most challenging course i have for the semester, and one of the most challenging courses i will ever take. Its one thing to understand organic structures. Its one thing to understand IUPAC. But once they start throwing a thousand organic reactions each carrying its own intermediate states, you start going nuts (where i already am). The labs are just a chaotic, literally consuming the entire 4-hour period, and getting lost means absolute death. Not recommended except for the organic lovers, and the program requirementers.
CHMB16H3: Analytical Chemistry (M 9:00-11:00, R 8:00-9:00, R 9:00-1:00 PRA)
Midterm: 10/28/06, 5:00-7:00
Not at all what i was expecting. When recommended as a should-take, i thought this course would be full of tedious work. I was wrong. This course consists of insanely tedious work. Though it carries somewhat not-complex lecture material (so far), the labs demands such a high level of precision and accuracy that higher grade of glassware is actually used. Fun if you like labs (like me) and a living hell if you don’t.
PSYB01H3: Psychological Research Laboratory (W 7:00-9:00, F 2:00-3:00)
Midterm: 10/20/06, 7:00-9:00
Don’t take unless its a program reqirement, or you have plans to do graduate work in psychology.
PSYB32H3: Abnormal Psychology (W 7:00-10:00)
Midterm: 10/19/06, 7:00-10:00
Easily the most interesting course of the ones that I am taking. B32 Abnormal Psychology takes a look at what truly defines the very thin line between what is normal, and what is abnormal, from a psychological point of view. With more detailed studies on various forms of disorders, though some common, and some rare, one can learn much about abnormality.
