Why?

Why did you do something as desperate as a lockout? It was very desperate to prove a point such as that in such a method, instead of having the same talk without the lockout. If that’s how its going to be, is this an English Service i want to serve on?

Heck no. And i also hope you never, ever do that again. Its suicide.

Good intentions & the right loving, caring heart behind it… but as I have talked with our Elder after the Chinse service about it, the method used to get the point across was inappropriate. It is unfortunate that such occured, that there will be repercussions for Pastor Arthur and those who affected.

And in this postmodern age, HOW you do what you do is very important in spite of the why. I think we definitely need to pray for our Pastor, our Elders and ourselves in these times and situations.

    Kyrie eleison.

it was pertty shocking after i realized what he was doing. at first i thought it was to prove a point about the day’s message, kinda like, well, we had an abundance of seats inside the sanctuary with very few people (like the global north) vs. the general lack thereof with lots of people (like the global south), but that turned out to be too naive a guess. i was inside when it happened and i’ve no idea what happened outside, whether he actually confronted the people coming in or not, but… i guess it was a pretty gutsy move on his part. i’m 100% convinced he did it with the right intentions, but probably not with enough premeditation/foresight. i’m guessing that he must’ve been pushed pretty hard by the board about that to have done something so drastic, and without warning too… that man’s got a tough job. he was terribly broken up about it too… unlce kin was pretty pissed, as i’m sure a lot of other people are too. what drama. nevertheless, let’s not harbor any resentment.

No resentment. Just sad that such a thing was used.

there’s no need to reiterate what’s already been said, but you have to give him credit for having the balls to do what he did, regardless of if he was being pushed by the board or not. there was one guy who came in this past summer and blatantly remarked at how his (arthur’s) flock/congregation was tardy, and he said something should be done. but no one took it to heart, as people still continually came in late.

don’t know how effective this incident will be to discourage future tardiness . but art singlehandedly made the church look unfriendly and unwelcoming; no one should be scared into coming into service/church/fellowship on time, they should be present because they want to be there.

i guess all we can do now is to pray for him. i do hope he’ll mention it next sunday, to give clarity to what he did and ask for forgiveness if needed.

balls? since when did having faith have anything to do with balls?
